Abstract

1,090,230. Mechanical switches. SONCA INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 26, 1966 [Sept. 9, 1965], No. 38626/65. Heading H2B. [Also in Division F4] A hand torch switch comprises a slider 32, Fig. 2, which moves a two -part contact 21, 22 between three positions as determined by co-operating detents 25, 29, 31, on the terminal arm 21 and fixed contact 18 of the plastic torch casing. In the first (off) position an end 26 of the terminal arm 21 enters into locking engagement in a recess 27 of the fixed contact 18. Release from the off position is obtained by depression of a push button 34 mounted in the slider 14. In the intermediate on position (shown) an end 23 of the contact arm 22 is moved opposite to but spaced from a fixed contact 19. In this position the contact arm 22 may be depressed into engagement with the contact 19 by a second push button 33 in the slider 14. In the third position a projection 24 on the arm 21 fully engages the contact 19. A modification for a metal torch casing, Fig. 4 (not shown), is described.
