1,089,630. Noise suppressing hangers for testing aircraft. GRUNZWEIG & HARTMANN A.G. Dec. 31, 1965 [Jan. 2, 1965], No. 55362/65. Heading E1A. A noise suppressing hanger for testing jet aircraft has folding doors 1a, side louvres or baffles 2a which are selectively operable and serve as fresh air intage mufflers, and exhaust gas guiding surfaces or deflectors 3b which are divided by vertical ribs 3c and provided, if desired, with control flaps 4b leading to the noise muffler 4. The roof and walls of the hanger are made of sheet steel or aluminium and, together with the doors, are lined with sound absorbing material. The deflectors 3b are made of perforated metal sheet and rest on a bed 3b' of loose gravel.
