Abstract

1363184 Silencers TECUMSEH PRODUCTS CO 5 May 1972 [6 May 1971] 20963/72 Heading F1B A silencer comprises a first expansion chamber 12, Fig. 1 communicating with a second expansion chamber 14, a removably mounted spark arresting screen 40 positioned in the second chamber in the path of the exhaust gas and a heat shield 66 at least partially surrounding the chambers and secured thereto to make the silencer more rigid. The heat shield 66 is mounted on brackets 64 welded to the chambers. In modifications the screen may be turned 180 degrees from the position shown and may have a circular disc arranged at its centre.
