Abstract
1,089,024. Wells &c. SCHLUMBERGER WELL SURVEYING CORPORATION. Sept. 3, 1965, No. 37743/65. Heading E1F. A formation fluid sampler for lowering into a borehole comprises annular seals 55, 56 engageable with the formation, a sample collecting chamber 95 connected by a conduit 70, 66 to the interior of the seal 56, a formation engaging device 23 actuatable to engage the seals with the formation, a transducer 68 responsive to pressure charges in the conduit, a tube 60 in the seal 56 movable into the formation to conduct any fluid to the conduit, and a perforator 59 to penetrate the seal 55 and the adjacent formation to permit any fluid to flow to the conduit. The transducer indicates whether fluid flows through the tube to the conduit. If .no flow occurs the perforator, a shaped charge, opens the seal 55 so that any fluid present can flow to the conduit. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 827,885, 904,131 and 972.830.
