Abstract
Compounds of the formula X-Y-Z-NHNH2 wherein X is a C12- 24 aliphatic group, Y is O, S, -SO2-, -CONH-, -SO2NH-, -SO2N (Alkyl)- or -N(Alkyl)- group, and Z is a bivalent nucleus with aromatic character optionally substituted or a salt thereof are prepared either by diazotizing in an organic medium the corresponding amine with an alkyl nitrite, reducing in acid medium the obtained diazonium compound and liberating the base, or (when the group(s) in the nucleus Z or Y is (are) electron-withdrawing group(s) and is (are) in the ortho- or para-positions to the -NHNH2 group) by reacting the corresponding halo derivative with N2H4.
