Abstract

4-Diethyl-amino-2, 5-di-n-butoxy-benzene-1-diazonium chloride is made by twice ethylating aminohydroquinone di-n-butyl ether, coupling the resulting base with diazotised sulphanilic acid, reducing to form 4-amino-2, 5-di-n-butoxy-diethylaniline, diazotising this and isolating in the form of the zinc chloride double salt. The corresponding 4-di-n-propyl-amino-and 4-dimethylamino - derivatives are made by analogous methods. 4-Morpholino-2, 5-di-n-propoxy-benzene-1-diazonium chloride is made by nitrating chlorhydroquinone-di-n-propyl ether, boiling the product with aqueous morpholine, reducing to the amino compound and diazotising. The corresponding di-n-butoxy compound can be prepared analogously, and 4-piperidino-2,5 di-n-butoxy-benzene-1-diazonium chloride and the corresponding di-n-propoxy-compound can be made by similar methods. Morpholino-2, 5-di-(iso-amyloxy)-benzene-1-diazonium chloride is made by reaction of sulphuryl chloride on hydroquinone di-isoamyl-ether, nitration of the product, boiling of this with aqueous morpholine and reduction and diazotisation. The corresponding isobutoxy and isopropoxy compounds can be made similarly.
