Abstract
1,085,390. Axial-flow fans. TURBOWERKE MEIBEN VEB. Sept. 18, 1965, No. 39882/65. Heading F1C. A rotor (or stator) for an axial-flow fan comprises blades 4 followed by flaps 7, each blade 4 and its associated flap 7 being spaced apart to form, in effect, a slotted blade. Each blade or flap is angularly adjustable about its axis when nut 6, 9 is slackened. Alternatively the blades and flaps are jointly rotatable by a common adjusting mechanism. Three bolts 10 each have a threaded end 15 engaging a threaded bush 16 carried by a rotor disc 2, the other end 13 being secured by a nut 12 in an arcuate slot in a rotor disc 3. When the nuts 12 are slackened, the arcuate slots allow the rotor disc 3 to be turned relative to the rotor disc 2 to displace the flaps 7 circumferentially relative to the blades 4. After a locking device on a central pinion 18 has been released, the pinion can be rotated by engagement of a tool with slots 19, thereby turning the threaded bushes 16 through gear-wheels 17, so that the rotor disc 3 is axially displaced relative to the rotor disc 2, whereby the blades 4 and flaps 7 may, when viewed in the circumferential direction, overlap slightly as shown or have a small gap between them.
