Abstract

A bowling pin comprises a casing of a non-inflammable or substantially non-inflammable thermoplastic synthetic resinous material filled with a loading material comprising a mix of an aggregate and a bonding agent which sets to hardness within the casing and keys to the inner wall of the casing. The shell may be blow moulded from high density polythene, polypropylene, cellulose propionate, cellulose acetate, big impact polystyrene, A.B.S., P.V.C., nylon, pentone, or any copolymer of these materials. The aggregate such as powdered cork, powdered rubber, wood flour, sand, or slate flour is mixed with a bonding agent such as hydraulic cements, plasters, aqueous resins and polyester, epoxy, phenolic, urea or melamine resins, and is preferably introduced into the shell via an opening in the base thereof, said opening being provided with a synthetic resinous plug.
