Abstract

A hardenable synthetic resin moulding composition having a bulk density of not less than 0.4 g./cc., comprises a phenol-aldehyde resin and a filler consisting of chemically lignin-free sawdust. The sawdust used is freed of its incrustations in known manner by treatment with alkalis or sulphites. Resins specified are resols and novolacs. Specifications 322,158, [Class 22], and 568,335 are referred to.
