Abstract

Figured artificial stone is obtained by applying locally to a hard surface in a mould a first mix containing a hardenable resin and a filler and having a first pigmentation, then applying over the first mix, before its resin has set, a second mix containing a hardenable resin and a filler and having a different pigmentation, the first mix having a viscosity sufficiently high to resist its embodiment into the second, and finally applying a third mix containing a hardenable resin and filler, and allowing all the resins to set. A fourth mix containing a hardenable resin and a filler, and of non-uniform pigmentation, e.g. stripes, can be applied locally in the mould before the third mix, this third mix forming the body of the stone.
