Abstract

A curing agent for epoxy resins comprises a homogeneous liquid composition containing at least one aromatic polyamine (e.g. 4,41-diaminodiphenylmethane), a simple phenol (e.g. cresylic acid), a halogenated phenol (e.g. 2,4-dichlorophenol) and a liquid mono- or polyepoxy compound; the polyamine is partially reacted with the epoxy compound. Examples of epoxy compounds are: butyl glycidyl ether and glycerol triglycidyl ether. A hardenable composition may comprise an epoxy resin and up to 65% by wt. of the resin of the above curing agent.
