Abstract

108,334. Easting, C. A. July 3, 1916. Wind-screens.-A motorcycle side-car is fitted with a transparent screen of curved form in plan, normally in, front of the rider, and pivotally mounted so that it may be tilted to serve as a protector against rain. A sheet 1 of celluloid &c. is mounted in a spring frame 2 which carries a member 12 hinged at 17 to a member 10 bolted to the car body. A slotted quadrant 15 with locking- screw 16 is disposed about the pivot 17. Figs. 7 and 8 show a modified standard 21 which is adjustably connected to the screen by the nuts 25, 26. In a further modification, each supporting member is in three parts, namely, a fork 36 secured to the screen, a bracket 34 fixed to the car, and an intermediate member 37 having spigots 38, 39 mounted to turn in the fork and bracket respectively.
