Abstract

1,083,288. Semi-conductor devices. CKD PRAHA, NARODNI PODNIK. Dec. 3, 1964 [Dec. 21, 1963; Sept. 8, 1964], No. 49163/64. Heading H1K. A semi-conductor diode 1 is encapsulated by surrounding it with a spacer ring 8, sandwiching it between two electrodes 2, 3 having the shape shown, heating a cylinder 5 of " Teflon " (Registered Trade Mark) and sliding it into position, and forming a body 4 of epoxy resin round the resulting structure. Cylinder 5 prevents the material of body 4 from contaminating the diode 1. A controlled rectifier may be similarly constructed the gate electrode being contacted via an outlet extending through ring 8 cylinder 5 and body 4.
