Abstract
1,083,252. Roller conveyers. KOLSTER-BRANDES Ltd. May 28, 1965 [May 29, 1964], No. 22297/64. Heading B8A. A conveyer system comprises rails 8, 9 defining a path, a plurality of freely-running rollers 10 set at intervals transversely to said rails for conveying items (not shown) along the path and driven wheels or rollers 11, 12, 13 set at intervals along the path, each between a pair of the freely-running rollers 10, for imparting momentum to the items. The driven wheels may be so spaced as to impart momentum continuously to the items or intermittently. The driven wheels as 15, Fig. 3, are. arranged as pairs driven by an electr'c motor 20 through gearing 19. The wheels 15 may be' oppositely driven to rotate an item through a right-angle as it moves along a path. The gearing 19 may include a free-wheel so that items may be speeded up manually. Fig. 4 (not shown) illustrates a path with a branch up which an item may be reversed from the main path by wheels 32 driven in reverse, a gate 33 assisting the transfer.
