Abstract

1291280 Conveyers MOELLER & NEUMANN GmbH 22 Dec 1969 [4 Jan 1969] 62447/69 Heading B8A Flat bars 4 conveyed on a driven rollway 1 are guided by a wall 3 and are transferred on to a stationary grating 6 by pivotable members 5. The grating 6 co-operates with an oscillating grating 7 and the gratings comprise channel sections 6b, 7b which extend lengthwise of the rollway 1. All the channel sections are of the same length and each is provided with a downwardly inclined leading edge so that the bars 4 do not abut the edges as they are fed by the rollway. The apparatus enables the bars to be fed quickly one behind the other for transverse conveyance over the gratings 6, 7 while the bars continue to move longitudinally. The drive for the grating 7 is preferably actuated as each bar is detected by a photo-electric device. In their rest position, the channel sections 7b of the grating 7 are flush with the corresponding sections 6b of the grating 6.
