Abstract

1,082,688. Locking nuts; anchor-nuts. FIRTH CLEVELAND FASTENINGS Ltd. July 2, 1964 [July 12, l963], No. 27807/63 Heading F2H. A nut, Fig. 3, produced from a strip of resilient sheet metal, e.g. a blank of the shape shown in Fig. 1, has two arms 3, 4 (joined by a bent portion 2) for embracing a panel, with a thread-impressed aperture 5 in the arm 3 maintained in register with a panel opening by a tongue 14 on the arm 4, flanges 10 on the arm 3 being bent over to grip tightly the shank of a bolt engaging the nut. An arcuate lip 16 may be formed at the end of each flange 10 to grip the thread crest of the bolt.
