Abstract

1,081,502. Packages; transparent containers. HOFLIGER & KARG O.H.G. Feb. 11, 1966 [Feb. 13, 1965; Aug. 14, 1965], No. 6183/66. Headings B8C and B8P. A moulded transparent container body 1, Fig. 2, is closed by a transparent cover 2, part of which is permanently fixed on the body and part is releasably attached. After the initial opening, this latter part of the cover is used to reclose the container, a projection 8 on the cover engaging a corresponding recess 7 on the body. In the embodiments, the moulded plastics body is provided with a recess 9 (18), Fig. 4 (not shown), through which the rear end of the cover may be gripped when the container is to be opened. The cover itself is provided with reinforcing ribs 10 (15) which engage in corresponding recesses 11 on the body. A constriction 3 (14) is provided in the body to hold a tube 4 or bottle (17) in a fixed position within the container. The container may be produced by moulding the container body and cover separately on a deep-drawing drum under vacuum and heat, the cover being glued or heat-sealed to the container body after filling. Additional clamps or clips may be used to clamp the cover and body more securely together. Alternatively the container and cover may each be made by forcing a heated plastics sheet into a mould by compressed air. Finally the container body and cover may be made from a single piece of plastics sheet by means of a suitable mould and the application of heat and either a vacuum or pressure, the container being closed by bending the cover and pressing it into its closed position.
