Abstract
1,081,396. Packaging-machines. NATRONZELLSTOFFUND PAPIERFABRIKEN A.G. Dec. 3, 1964 [Dec. 4, 1963], No. 49175/64. Heading B8C. A valve-bag filling machine includes a screw feed to a fluidizing chamber from which the material being packaged passes to the bag, the screw feed also comprising the material. The machine may be contents weight controlled. In one embodiment the fluidizing chamber 8 is an extension of the screw feed cylinder and has an air distributer end wall 28a. The material outlet passes from the top of the chamber via a valve 9 to the nozzle 11. In another, the chamber is of frusto-conical shape the distributer forming the side wall and the outlet occurring axially of the screw feed, Fig. 1 (not shown). In a further variation the chamber extends downwards with an air distributer bottom wall and the outlet below the level of the screw feed, Fig. 2 (not shown). An optical weight indicator 22, 23 may be provided.
