Abstract
In a sports shoe having a moulded plastic outsole 1 (Fig. 2, not shown) on which cleats or studs 2 are removably secured, by means of anchoring members 3 inserted through the insole 5 into the outsole and anchored in the insole by a head 6 which is preferably flat and may be pronged, the upper side of the outsole at each anchorage is provided with a depression 7 into which the insole is drawn when a cleat is connected to an anchoring member. The recesses 10 formed above the insole may be filled with cushioning material, e.g. granulated cork. The outsole shown has in alignment with each depression 7 a projection 9 of a thickness at least equal to the thickness of the outsole. The side walls of depressions 10 merge gradually into the upper surface of the soles. Conveniently a recess 10 may be arranged beneath the ball of the foot.
