Abstract
1,080,529. Sieves. MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR A.G. July 14, 1966 [July 30, 1965], No. 31689/66. Heading B2H. [Also in Division E2] In a sieve arrangement for a harvesting machine, a clamping means 5..10 locates the superposed sieves 2, 3 in a sieve box 1. The clamping means comprises a floating clamping claw 5 with a releasable mounting which in use holds the claw against edges of the superposed sieves to apply to them pressures acting along lines in the planes of the sieves, the mounting permitting the pressures to be adjusted. To change sieves a ring nut 10 is slackened, an eye bolt 9 swung out of a slot in a bracket 11, and the clamping means 5..10 is swung out on a shaft 7. The sieves 2, 3 are released and changed, and the clamping means is swung back and the ring bolt 9 re-engaged in the slot. The clamping pressure is adjusted by tightening or slacking the ring nut 10. In a second embodiment the sieve clamping means is reversed, with the shaft (7, Fig. 3) disposed above the sieves. The clamping means may be mounted on one or both sides of the sieve box.
