Abstract
1,079,459. Converting circuits. HEBERLEIN & CO. A.G. June 21, 1966 [June 22, 1965], No. 27628/66. Heading H2F. A thyristor firing control circuit includes a capacitor 4 which charges until the voltage across it reaches the breakdown voltage of a glow discharge tube 6 whereupon the thyristor 1 is fired. The capacitor 4 then discharges through the thyristor 1 via diode 7 to extinguish the glow tube 6, thus protecting it against excess current. The charging time of the capacitor may be varied by a variable resistor 5 in the charging circuit.
