Abstract

1,079,126. Thread breakage detectors. VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY. Nov. 24, 1965 [Dec. 15, 1964], No. 49836/65. Heading DID. A thread breakage detector for a spinning device having a rotating chamber from which the spun thread emerges, is secured to the outlet portion of the chamber and comprises a tube 7 which is mounted to swing in a plane and is deflected from its upright position during normal operation by the thread running therealong and leaving it at an angle to the tube axis: the tube is deflected against a resilient member 13 carrying a contact member 17 which normally holds open the contacts of a switch 18 when the thread breaks the tube moves to it upright position, allowing the switch contacts to close and activate a circuit to operate a stop motion, or a device for rejoining the thread. Tube 7 is confined to move in a plane by a forked member 19 and its extreme positions are determined by adjustable end stops 4, 5. Tube 7 is mounted on a stub tube 8 by a rubber cuff 9. In Fig. 2, not shown, tube (7) is pivotally mounted by pins (11) in blocks (12). Member 13 is vertically adjustable on support plate 3. In Fig. 3, not shown, tube (7) is urged towards it upright position by an air cylinder (20).
