Abstract

Apparatus for gripping textile material (filaments, crimped yarns, cords, fibres and fabrics) comprises at least two rollers at least one of the rollers comprising an inflatable member of reinforced rubber. In Fig. 1 a crimped yarn passes in sinuous manner over rollers arranged in upper and lower rows of which the last roller forms a nip with an idler. The intermediate rollers of the upper row are engaged by an inflatable roller 10 carried at an intermediate position of an arrangement of two spaced cranked arms 14 on a common pivot 16 at one end and adapted to be adjustably weighted at 25 at the other. The inflatable roller is constituted by a tyred wheel with a plain or patterned surface. The grip may be produced by the nip between two inflatable rollers.
