Abstract

1,078,353. Rotary flexible-vane pumps. QUILLOT Ltd. May 20, 1965 [June 19, 1964], No.25360/64. Heading F1F. A rotary flexible-vane pump in, e. g., a handwheeled liquid fertilizer distributer, includes a pressure-applying blade 16, Fig. 1, hingedly attached to the pump casing 6 and extending longitudinally of the rotor 5 to isolate an inlet 11 from an outlet 13 and deform vanes 9 provided on a natural or synthetic rubber covering 8 enclosing the rotor. The blade 16 is adjustable from outside the casing to vary the amount of deformation of the vanes and hence the amount of liquid discharged at every revolution of the rotor from a maximum to zero. In starting the pump the blade 16 is adjusted to its "no pumping" position. An easily removable cover permits of easy removal of the pump parts for cleaning and replacement. The pump which is driven through bevel gearing from the wheels (2), Fig.3 3 (not shown) of the distributer has its inlet (11) connected to a bulk reservoir (1) mounted on the distributer and its outlet to a spray-bar or bars (15) through a filter (14).
