Abstract

1,077,943. Magnetic couplings. COMPAGNIE DES COMPTEURS. May 19, 1965 [June 23, 1964], No. 21175/65. Heading H2A. A rotor for a magnetic coupling of a fluid flow meter comprises a ferromagnetic cylinder 13 having at least one axially extending magnetic gap and attached by non-magnetic arms 12 to a shaft 11. The shaft 15 is driven by a water meter and carries a transversely polarized permanent magnet 14 which is separated from the rotor 13 by means of a hermetic cover 19. A magnetic screen 17 is also provided. The arrangement makes it substantially impossible to defraud the meter by use of external magnets such as 10a, 10b or 10c.
