Abstract
1,077,745. Engine cooling systems. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. March 15, 1965 [March 20, 1964], No. 10823/65. Heading F4U. [Also in Division F2] The sealed cooling system of an internal combustion engine includes a resilient conduit 26 a portion of which has walls 52 which are more resilient than the remainder of the conduit so that they stretch to accommodate increases in volume of the coolant. The conduit may be the radiator inlet pipe, and a woven wire or cloth envelope 53 or a barrel-shaped coiled steel wire may enclose the resilient section 52, and may be fixed to it by clamps 54, 55, to limit the radial expansion.
