Tuning-devices.-An auxiliary device for stretching violin &c. strings before use has bridges 8, 9 tunings pins or pegs 7, and tail-piece 2 in positions corresponding with those of the instrument. The body 1 may be formed as a resonator, and an adjustable fixing device may be substituted for the notched tail-piece.
