Abstract

1,075,602. Loading containers with bulk material. A. TELENTI. Jan. 27, 1965 [Feb. 5, 1964; April 7, 1964], No. 3500/65. Heading B8E. Bulk material is loaded and compacted into a cylinder 1 mounted for rotation in either direction on a vehicle on a pivot pin 3 and rollers 7. The cylinder interior has helical blades 10, 12, 16 of varying pitch to feed and compact the material as it is rotated while the cylinder is loaded through a door sealing against the edge 17 at the rear of the cylinder. The door has extending into the cylinder a frustro-conical surface 23, Fig. 4 (not shown), closed at its inner end and having an aperture 29 through which material falls into the cylinder. The blades 16 raise the material and in conjunction with different external configurations shown on the surface 23 feed the material right into the cylinder 1. The axes 9 of the hinges of the door are at 45 degrees to the horizontal so that when the door is opened and the rotation of the cylinder reversed to discharge the material it does not impede it.
