Abstract
852,210. Screw conveyers on vehicles for unloading. HANSEN, E. K. May 2, 1958, No. 14167/58. Classes 78 (1) and 78 (4). A screw 67 (Fig. 1) delivering material from a container 11 such as a vehicle body is fed by an impeller 42 (Fig. 2) mounted in a housing 26 (Fig. 1) with its axis at right angles to that of the screw. In the construction illustrated the impeller 42 is fed by a screw 24 within the body of the vehicle and the shaft 59 of the screw 67 is driven through bevel gearing 57, 56 from the shaft 38 of the impeller 42 which is driven in turn through a universal coupling 51 (Fig. 1) from a towing tractor. The impeller 42 is preferably formed by plates 52 (Fig. 3) welded to a square shaft 41 while the blades of each of the screws preferably have the cam contour indicated at 66.
