Abstract

1,075,231. Two-part couplings. UTILUX PTY Ltd. Oct. 18, 1964 [Jan. 21, 1964], No. 2572/64. Heading H2E. An electrical connector includes a clip portion 11 having a base 12, upwardly and inwardly directed arms 13 arranged on both sides of the base, and a longitudinal slot 17 near the junction of each arm with the base, the base being deformed inwardly at 15 between the slots 17. The inwardly deformed portion of the base has a pip (16) formed thereon which co-operates in use with a depression in a mating blade to locate and retain the blade. The ends of the arms are bent upwardly to present a rounded portion 14 to the inserted blade. The connector may have two ferrule portions 19 and 20 for gripping the bared end of an insulated conductor and the conductor insulation respectively, the portion 19 having triangular cross-section indentations (18). The contact may have a flat tab instead of the ferrule portion, Fig. 6 (not shown), to connect it to a mounting member, or it may be connected to other clips or blades to provide an adapter.
