An immersed tank for storing liquids lighter than water consists of an annular float having a cupola secured to its top the bottom of the tank under the liquid stored therein is kept in contact with the surrounding water due to the fact that the float is held above the water bed by feet secured to the float, or if the space between the float and the bed is closed, by passages through the float. The float may be of circular, triangular, square, or polygonal cross section, and circular, an ellipse, rectangular or polygonal in plan.
