In a method of making waterproof protective footwear a sock portion (12) comprising leg, foot and sole portions is produced by slush moulding, and an outer sole and heel portion (14) is injection moulded on to the sock portion (12). The portions (12) and (14) may be of different colours or compositions, examples of the latter being given.
