Abstract

1,073,950. Autographic registers. G. S. N. GOSTLING. Oct. 7, 1964 [Oct. 12, 1963], No. 40862/64. Heading B6A. [Also in Division B8] A carton for business forms 70 which may be in duplicate or triplicate has a writing surface 15 and a windowed top surface 30 between which the forms pass, detent means being provided to locate each top form in writing position and stop means 50 locating the pad of forms inside the carton. The carton is folded from a cardboard blank (Fig. 1, not shown) and comprises a bottom panel 10, inner side panels 11 (18), a writing surface 15 reinforced by flaps 21, 22 secured to the surface 15, outer side panels (28), (33) the latter carrying lugs (34) which engage slots (13), (14) when the blank is folded up. The blank also comprises flaps 49 50, 51 which when folded form a stop to locate the pad of forms and a portion 58 which forms a sloping support to facilitate writing. The forms are provided with two holes for filing and detent means on the carton engage these holes to locate each form in writing position. The detent may comprise lugs (37) cut in an end flap (36) extending from the panel 30 or may be dome-shaped portions embossed in the panel 30 or in a separate insert. A sheet of carbon paper may be inserted between panels 30 and 15 and held in place by a U-shaped strip of cardboard engaging holes in the carton and around which one end of the carbon paper is folded. The forms are threaded, as shown in Fig. 6, from the inside of the carton between the panel 30 and the writing surface 15 and after use each form is torn off along the line of perforation 71. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 938,388.
