Abstract

1,073,711. Racking. J. ROBERTSON. April 20, 1965 [April 20, 1964], No. 16349/64. Heading A4B. A pallet or like rack comprises spaced apart uprights 10, each comprising braced front and rear posts, fitted with a plurality of U-shaped tubular bearers 15 each bearer 15 being pivotally at the ends of its arms to a front and a rear post whereby a pallet 22 positioned between the uprights 10 may be raised past a pair of opposed bearers 15 to pivot the latter towards the vertical to subsequently fall under their own weight to a projecting position in which they support the thereafter lowered pallet. The bearers 15 may pivot through 180 degrees to project on either side of the upright 10 and in each horizontal position they are supported by stops 17 or 18 (Fig. 4, not shown) carried by the upright 10. Adjacent uprights are interconnected by top transverse members 11 which may support a shelf and may be secured to the floor and/or by a bottom connecting rail.
