Abstract
1,073,316. Liquid-gas contact apparatus. C. G. MUNTERS. June 19, 1964 [July 4, 1963], No. 222/67. Divided out of 1,073,315. Heading B1R. Contact apparatus for liquid and gas comprises a contact body 10 within a casing 12 said body being composed of non-metallic corrugated sheets which touch where the crests of their respective corrugations cross thus forming channels for the passage of gas and liquid in substantially vertical counterflow, the corrugations in alternate sheets being inclined in opposite directions and at an angle of 15-40 to the vertical. The sheets may be of resinimpregnated asbestos or cellulose paper.
