Abstract

A grooved yarn traversing drum has radially extending bores in the vicinty of the locations where the groove crosses itself, and in each bore is a pin of hard material, each pin having a slot opening towards the surface of the drum body and extending in the direction of the groove in which the pin is located, said slot of each pin defining a guide surface for raising the yarn away from the bottom of the groove. The pins reduce wear at the crossover locations of grooved drums manufactured from synthetic plastics.
