Abstract
Phenylacetonitriles of the Formula I, wherein A, B and C represent hydrogen or halogen atoms, C1- 3 alkyl or C1- 3 alkoxy groups and two adjacent groups may also form together a methylenedioxy group, R represents a C1- 3 alkyl radical, R1 represents a C1- 5 alkyl radical, a saturated or unsaturated cyclic radical or a benzyl or phenyl groups; n represents the number 2, 3 or 4 and m represents the number 1, 2 or 3, and whereby the free links of both phenyl radicals are saturated by the substituents A, B and C are prepared either by reacting compounds of the Formula II or by reacting a compound of the Formula II with a compound of the Formula IV and introducing the radical R into the obtained secondary amine by alkylation <FORM:1069921/C2/1> <FORM:1069921/C2/2> <FORM:1069921/C2/3> <FORM:1069921/C2/4> <FORM:1069921/C2/5> Phenylacrylonitriles of the Formula II may be prepared by condensing compounds of the Formula V with a , o -dihaloalkanes.
