A ferrite composition is made by heating a mixture having the formula (1 - Z)[Li 2 O.5(1 - x)Fe 2 O 3 ]. .Z[Li 2 O.5(1 - x)Al 2 O 3 ].2yMnO 2 in which 0À1 < x < 0À6 0 < Z # 0À2 0 < y < 1 The ferrite is made by sintering oxides. Examples are given of various compositions and the properties of the material.
