Abstract
1,069,163. Moulding framed building elements. J. H. R. ROWELL, and P. G. ROWELL. Nov. 18, 1965 [Aug. 18, 1964], No. 33699/64. Heading B5A. A mould, e.g. a window-frame mould, comprises a plurality of interlocking sections the number of which can be varied to alter the size of the mould cavity. Each section is of channel cross-section and has a plain end and a complementary socket end. The socket end may comprise a separate channel-sectioned member secured to a plain end of the section or may be formed by cutting and belling-out the end of a section. Some sections are rightangled to define corners. Strips of wood are located in the mould to define glass receiving recesses and re-inforcing piano wire may be inserted in the moulding material, e.g. sawdust and lightweight concrete or a polyester resin or an epoxy resin. Pins may extend from the wooden strips to form holes in the moulding, into which glass retaining pins may be later inserted. A hollow fibre glass insert may be provided in the moulding. The mould may be of aluminium or plastics and, before use, is greased or lined with a polythene sheet.
