Abstract
1,069,024. Turbine blade fixing. MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Aug. 20, 1965 [Aug. 25, 1964; Aug. 27, 1964], No.35948/65. Heading FIT. In order to reduce vibration of the blades 2 of a gas or steam turbine rotor, adjacent blades are Interconnected at their tips by shrouds 3 or 4 riveted at 5 to form adjacent groups each having a different number of blades. Adjacent groups may consist of two and three blades, three and four, four and six, five and seven, or six and eight. Alternatively groups of two, three and four blades may be used on the same rotor. The blades 2 are mounted on the rotor in an annular slot 7, or in modifications, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown), by a straddle mounting or in axial fir-tree slots respectively. In each case the front,upper surface of the blade root 6 is chamfered at 6 1 to reduce stresses when the blade tilts under load.
