Abstract

1,068,808. Traversers. DEMAG A.G. July 27, 1964, No. 29922/64. Heading B7J. [Also in Division B8] A traverser is moved along rails 1 by a motor 6 driving axle 8 through chain 7 and carries drive units 9a, 9b pivoted to the traverser at A, B, these units having friction wheels 10a, 10b driven by motors equipped with mechanical brakes. A tub runs from track 5a on to the traverser and is brought to rest by units 9a, 9b which have their brakes applied, the motor 6 then moves the traverser to the required track 5b or 5c and the units 9a, 9b are automatically operated to move the tub in the required direction on to the new track. A speed-reduction gear is used to slow down the traverser for accurate positioning at tracks 5a, 5b or 5c.
