Abstract

[Also in Divisions El and H5] A ceiling or wall panel comprises a tray 1 formed by a rectangular sheet of fibre-reinforced thermoplastic material which may be of the composition set forth in Specification 1,068,064, with side walls 3, 4 projecting substantially at right-angles along at least two opposite edges, the space between the walls being filled with a backing material 5 which may be bonded to the tray by a thermo-setting resin 6. An electrical heating element 7, which may comprise graphite resin bonded to a woven glass fibre fabric, may be interposed between the tray 1 and material 5 and is preferably embedded in the thermosetting resin 6. The material of the tray may comprise a mixture of vinyl chloride polymers reinforced by fibres of asbestos, glass or a mixture thereof. The backing material 5 may be a foamed synthetic resin or a mat of mineral wool, glass or asbestos fibres or of asbestos combined with hydrated lime and silica or magnesia.
