[Also in Divisions G1 and G4] A photo-potentiometer, Fig. 3 (not shown), for use in a servo-multiplier (see Division G4) comprises resistive strips (19) and conductive strips (21) separated by a photo-conductive layer (17), such as cadmium sulphide or cadmium selenide evaporated on to a substrate of mica or ceramic. The parts of the layer (17) exposed to light then becomes low impedance, so that a voltage is applied to the conductive strip.
