Abstract
1,068,242. Roof drainage. K. O. ESSER. June 25, 1964 [June 26, 1963; Dec. 18, 1963], No. 26363/64. Heading E1C. A rain-water outlet for flat roofs, balconies and like surfaces comprises a funnel-shaped entry part 9 of synthetic plastics material made up of an inner wall 10 and an outer wall 11, heat insulating material 12 being therebetween. The walls 10, 11 may be glass-fibre-reinforced synthetic plastics material. The entry part 9 may be roughened on the outer surface, the inner surface being smooth. A heating wire 15 may be embedded inside the part 9, to extend sinuously or in loops over its length, the wire ends being led out of it at 16 into sheathing 17 connected to terminals 18. The wire 15 may be laminated directly on to the wall 10 before curing or secured onto it by introducing heat-insulating foamed synthetic plastics material into the space between the walls 10, 11. The roof is made of a concrete part 1 with a ceiling rendering 2 and is covered by heat insulation 3 over a barrier layer 4 and under a synthetic plastics foil 5 covered by roof felting 7. The foil 5 is cut to have an edge which is turned down into the parts 9 and is so held by a clamping ring 8, resting on projections 13, and which may support a screen or like filter 14.
