1,067,966. Cars continuous forming trains; undercarriages; mounting axles. NIEDERS€CHSISCHE WAGGONFABRIK JOSEPH GRAAFF. G.m.b.H. April 14, 1965 [April 23, 1964], No. 16039/65. Heading B7L. An articulated railway train comprises a number of carriage members, an articulation joint 4 between the ends of adjacent carriage members, e.g. 1 and 2 and a single wheel axle arranged below the joint 4, the axle bearing housings 5 and 6 being connected by ball-andsocket joints 12 to guides 7 and 8 which are resiliently yieldable, by springs (10), Fig. 2 (not shown), in both axial directions of the guides, and which are pivoted to lugs 13 and 14 on the members 1 and 2. When the members 1, 2 are in the straight line position, there is a clearance on each side of an axle box and a co-operating portion on each carriage member, as described with reference to Fig. 2 (not shown) and these clearances are taken-up during buffering shocks. When the train negotiates a normal curve only one-clearance is taken up, but on a sharp curve the axle bearing housing is also moved against the resilience of its guide and the other clearance is also taken up.
