1,067,457. Photo-electric thread Investigating devices. W. REINERS. Sept. 3, 1963 [Sept. 7, 1962; Jan. 25, 1963], No. 48449/66. Divided out of 1,067,456. Heading G1A. The description is identical with that relating to the photo-electric thread measuring and presence detecting arrangement in the parent, but the claims are directed to a device for ascertaining variations in cross-section of a thread present in a textile machine or in the number of threads present, comprising two photo-electric cells arranged with their axes intersecting at a point through which the thread or threads extend, means to direct light beams along said axes towards the cells, and means to compare the voltages occurring on said cells.
