Abstract

1,067,426. Ball joints. WISSENSCHAFTLICH-TECHNISGHES ZENTRUM AUTOMOBILBAU HOHENSTEIN-ERNSTTHAL, VEB. Aug. 11, 1964, No. 32713/64. Heading E2F. A ball joint comprises an upper housing member I against which seats an upper bearing support 3 carrying a bearing member 4 in contact with the ball 2, and a lower bearing member 6 carried in a support 5 in contact with the upper housing 1 at 9. The support 5 is urged by a spring 8 bearing on a lower housing member 7 connected to the upper housing 1 and located by the lower bearing support 5, to hold the bearing members 4, 6 in contact with the ball 2. The interior of the ball joint is packed with grease and a depression 10 is provided in the lower housing 7 for the attachment of a sealing boot 11.
