Abstract

969,595. Bearings. JONAS WOODHEAD & SONS Ltd. June 4, 1963 [June 4, 1962], No. 21491/62. Heading F2A. [Also in Division B8] A lubricant chamber 4 of a bearing housing 1 is sealed by a dome-shaped sealing member 5 which is secured in an aperture 6 of the housing 1 by means of a tool (not shown) which is pressed on to the member 5 so as to cause it to expand. In an embodiment, the housing 1 has a ball bearing 2 mounted therein which receives a shaft 7 of a spring-roller 3. The shaft 7 is integral with a plug member 8 having a spigot 9 thereon. The member 8 is welded to the spring-roller 3 and the spigot 9 is received by said spring-roller.
