A means for provida tubular construction joint comprises a substantially L - shaped bolt 1 engageable with a first tube 7 and a spigot member 9 provided with uniform or tapered section 9a engageable with a second tube 14, said bolt having a head 5, which is passed through an enlarged hole 8 in said first tube and is hooked into abutment with the inner surface thereof, and a threaded shank 2, which passes through an axial bore 10 in the spigot member and, together with a co-operating nut 4, clamps said member at an angle to the first tube. The spigot member end in contact with the first tube is profiled to conform with the first tube wall as illustrated in Figs. 1, 3 and 8 (not shown), variation of said profiling permitting the two tubes to be connected at any desired angle. In a modification, Figs. 5, 6 and 7 (not shown), the spigot section 9a is of reduced diameter relative to the second tube bore and is formed with longitudinal, tapered fins 18 which engage wall of said second tube thereby accommodating minor variations and irregularities of the tube and spigot to form a stable joint. The spigot member and second tube may be interlocked by either a pin or bolt passing laterally therethrough (not shown), a threaded stud passing through the tube wall and bearing on the spigot (not shown), or a radially-slotted resilient washer 15, Figs. 5 and 7, of the type disclosed in Specification 1,045,296.
