Abstract

1,066,356. Feeding tobacco. F. MOSS (K. Korber). July 13, 1964, No. 28834/64. Heading A2C. A tobacco mixture is produced by mixing cut natural tobacco with a tobacco foil strip of a width similar to that of the cut natural tobacco particles. As shown in Fig. 1 a strip of tobacco foil 19 is fed from a reel 17 between cutters 11, 12 which cut it into a plurality of narrow strips 20. The strips 20 are fed through a rotary funnel 5 and emerge as a coil 21. The spaces in the coils are filled by natural tobacco 22 to form a continuous rod 23. In a second embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the natural tobacco may be blown into the funnel 5 so that a complete rod emerges. A paper wrapping strip may be provided above the conveyer belt 2.
